What is an Application Engine?
Application Engine is used for BATCH or ONLINE processing where you have a large (or small) amount of data that needs to be processed without user intervention.
Application Engine is the PeopleTool that you use to develop BATCH or ONLINE PROGRAM that are effective alternatives to COBOL or SQR programs for Performance.
